“In the past, I’ve often felt I had to be careful in public, like I was up on a wire without a net. Now I’m letting my guard down.” –Hillary Clinton, from the introduction to her new book, What Happened
In a discussion of her new memoir, Secretary Clinton will reveal that candor, describing what she was thinking and feeling during an election marked by exhilarating highs, infuriating lows, and stranger-than-fiction twists. She will also speak about the double standard confronting women in politics and the rituals, relationships, and reading that gave her the strength to pick herself up after her devastating loss.
