Welcome to lifelong learning.

Celebrating Israel

End your week by experiencing the magic of Shabbat in our historic sanctuary—with fascinating guests and an extended oneg Shabbat reception with live music.  Whether Temple Emanu-El is your regular Friday night destination or you are a first-timer, please join our community.

Shulamit “Shuli” Natan, while still a Israeli soldier in 1967, performed a new song, Yerushalayim Shel Zahav (Jerusalem of Gold) written by Naomi Shemer. It became immensely popular shortly before the Six-Day War, and made Shuli world-famous and the song became the informal Israeli national anthem.

Join us on Friday night where Shuli Natan will perform Jerusalem of Gold  and deliver remarks from the bima during services.

A moderated conversation will follow services.

An extended Yom H’a’atzmaut celebratory oneg Shabbat – with a DJ and Israeli food – will follow.

This program is generously sponsored by TheTisch Family.
