Welcome to lifelong learning.

Communities of Character: A Conversation with David Brooks

You know David Brooks from his New York Times Op-Ed pieces, his regular appearances on PBS News Hour and NPR, and his best-selling books. Through these media you have seen his expertise on politics and foreign affairs, his gift for cogent argument and setting context, and even glimpsed his lively sense of humor.

Join us for an evening with David Brooks, whose discussion will span a range of topics, from politics to philosophy to Israel and more. Mr. Brooks will also discuss his new book The Road to Character, which draws in part from Judaism and explains how selflessness leads to greater success and how we can build rich inner lives marked by humility and moral depth.

In addition to his New York Times columns and weekly political commentary on PBS News Hour, David Brooks is a Yale University Jackson Senior Fellow, member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and former writer, editor or columnist for Wall Street Journal, Atlantic Monthly, Newsweek, The Weekly Standard and other major print media. He is also the author of several books, including the best-seller The Social Animal: The Hidden Sources of Love, Character and Achievement.
