Visualizing the Bible: Works by David Wander

This exhibition explores themes of Jewish myth, history and biblical narrative through the works of New York–based artist David Wander. Wander’s work is presented in book format that melds traditions of medieval Hebrew manuscript illumination and contemporary graphic illustration.  Based on his readings of the Hebrew Bible, Jewish sacred texts and legends, Wander creates
a dynamic, multi-layered visual narrative that allows us to see these texts in a new light.

Visualizing the Bible will feature eight narratives: Esther, Ruth, Song of Songs, Lamentations,
Jonah, David, Judith and the Golem of Prague.
