DELI MAN: MOVIE SCREENING AND CATERED LUNCH

“Any time a person goes into a deli and orders a pastrami on white bread, somewhere a Jew dies.”Milton Berle

The deli is a central part of our culture and is so inextricably intertwined with Judaism that arguments over who has the “best” pickles or where to get the “perfect” corned beef take on quasi-biblical proportions. In many ways, the story of the deli is the story of the Jews.

Join us for a multisensory experience of film viewing, discussion and lunch!  Filmmaker Erik Greenberg Anjou will introduce the screening of his latest documentary, Deli Man, followed by a moderated Q&A with Gabriella Gershenson, the food features editor at Every Day with Rachael Ray magazine.

A deli lunch catered by Katz’s, Second Avenue and Mile End will be served.
