At the Herbert & Eileen Bernard Museum of Judaica
An extraordinary kickoff to our All About Golda series of events. With special remarks by Gidi Meir, Golda’s grandson. Following Friday evening services, a festive reception featuring Golda’s famous chicken soup, prepared by Joan Nathan. Featuring a replica of Golda’s iconic kitchen, a portrait of her Andy Warhol, photographs and personal items.
Then, join us in our museum for four unique Golda-themed experiences that will enrich your knowledge of Golda Meir and provide a deeper understanding of the iconic leader through art, spoken word, music and photography.
Monday, November 7
An intimate glimpse at the softer side of Golda with harpsichordist and organist Gideon Meir, Golda’s grandson. Mr. Meir combines anecdotes and memories with a personal selection of favorites at the piano to create an interpretive and portrait of his grandmother.
Monday, December 19
Hear directly from Golda!
Author Elinor Burkett will play recordings of rare interviews with the storied leader, first setting up context and backstory for a fuller understanding of Golda’s words.
Tuesday, February 21
Create your own masterpiece in this hands-on workshop with artist Hanoch Piven, whose portrait work transforms everyday objects into dramatic, quirky and surprisingly revealing portraits. His Golda portrait is featured in our exhibition, and his work has appeared in Time, Rolling Stone, the London Times and other publications.
Wine & cheese will be served at each experience.
