Welcome to lifelong learning.

James Snyder and the Israel Museum

James Snyder, Anne and Jerome Fisher Director of the Israel Museum, speaks at our own Herbert and Eileen Bernard Museum of Judaica about the inner workings and challenges of running a museum, engaging a huge range of visitors and the responsibility of being the cultural caretaker of Israel’s past, present and future.

Mr. Snyder will address the complexities of managing the twenty-acre campus, which attracts 750,000 visitors each year. What criteria go into selecting artists/objects to feature? How does he deal with the controversy inherent in many museum exhibits? And with the Israel Museum celebrating its 50th anniversary, what are the sine qua non for ensuring a museum’s success and longevity?
