Matchmaking: Live, Up-Close & Personal

A Program for Jewish Singles Ages 35 – 50

Includes hors d’oeuvres and Skirball signature cocktails!

Matchmaking has always played a role in Judaism. In biblical times Eliezer, a servant of Abraham, matched up his master’s son Isaac with Rebekah. Through the ages, many considered matchmaking a mitzvah, and bringing Jewish couples together for marriage remains part of our tradition.

But what does modern-day Jewish matchmaking look like?

Meet Tova Weinberg, the real-life Yente of contemporary Jewish matchmaking. Even The New York Times recognized her uncanny skill, calling her “…the Jewish matchmaker whose hand has led hundreds down the aisle.”

Join us for an evening with Ms. Weinberg, who will discuss the art of modern Jewish matchmaking in association with the Here Comes the Bride: Wedding Gowns Embroidering the Story of the Jewish People exhibit.

Ms. Weinberg, a dentist by trade, gave up the drill and switched to full-time matchmaking long ago. In addition to matching hundreds of Jewish couples, she created the Jewish dating website SawYouAtSinai.com.
