Nearly 1000 people from all around the greater community attended Temple Emanu-El Skirball Center’s special tribute to Yitzhak Rabin. On the 20th anniversary of his murder, our audience mourned in prayer for that dark November 4, 1995 and reflected on the many great accomplishments of the Israeli leader over the course of his long career. The Consulate General of Israel in New York, Ido Aharoni co-hosted tonight’s memorial service with special remarks from two of New York’s notable Jewish leaders, Malcolm Hoenlin, Conference of Presidents, and Alissa Doctoroff, UJA Federation. His grandchildren, Jonathan Benartzi and Noa Rothman personalized Rabin’s legacy by adding their own individual memories of their grandfather and despite it all, promised enduring commitments to peace.
Yitzhak Rabin: “We must think differently, look at things in a different way. Peace requires a world of new concepts, new definitions.”
